The Story

Once upon a time in the vibrant state of Uttar Pradesh, a young man named Rishab Singh embarked on a journey that would take him through the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.

In 2016, armed with a degree in computers, Rishab's passion for sales led him to join Byjus as a Sales and Business Developer. His skills played a pivotal role in expanding Byjus to the diverse landscapes of Maharashtra and Goa. His dedication and hard work paid off, leading to promotions to Business Development Manager and later, Senior Business Development Manager.

However, in 2018, Rishab decided to chart a new course and became part of the founding team of Snapzo, a B2B platform based in Bangalore. Snapzo aimed to revolutionize the way local stores source their inventory, becoming the go-to platform for vendors. Rishab spearheaded tech development, customer acquisition, and customer onboarding, successfully onboarding 2500 sellers across 50 pincodes in Bangalore.

Snapzo thrived, generating a lifetime revenue of 25 crores until the unforeseen arrival of COVID-19 cast a shadow over the startup. Local stores shuttered, and Snapzo struggled to stay afloat despite their best efforts. Unfortunately, the lack of runway led to the closure of the promising venture.

After a brief respite, Rishab identified a new problem — the challenge of finding affordable party wear. Leveraging his uncle's clothing factory, which faced setbacks due to the pandemic, Rishab founded Darjie in February 2023, a family boutique near Varanasi. Managing everything from product and inventory to sales and marketing, Darjie provided Rishab with his first B2C experience.

Darjie, unlike Snapzo, collaborated with fabric sellers, sharing 5% of profits as a gesture of gratitude and support. Despite facing challenges, Darjie achieved a lifetime revenue of 35 lakhs with an impressive customer retention rate. Rishab envisioned an AI model to generate customized and personalized designs, but funding obstacles forced him to close Darjie's doors in September 2023.

Undeterred, Rishab, armed with knowledge from the Edtech, e-commerce, and fashion industries, is now seeking opportunities to contribute as an employee in other startups. His journey, marked by successes and setbacks, has shaped him into a seasoned professional ready to share his expertise in the ever-evolving world of entrepreneurship.
