Overview:

As a Student Investment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing student teams while overseeing the end-to-end investment process. This unique position combines investment responsibilities with the crucial aspect of mentoring and developing a student team. The role requires a candidate with strong investment acumen, excellent team management skills, and the ability to work effectively during weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities:

Student Team Management:

Lead and manage a student team of 30 individuals.
Ensure a timely and efficient flow through the investment process, presenting at least two startups to the investment committee every alternate Sunday.
Provide training and coaching to the student team, fostering their professional development.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the student team, offering constructive feedback.

Investment Evaluation:

Collaborate with student teams during the evaluation of startups.
Create and maintain sectoral research papers to guide the evaluation process.
Meet with startups at a certain stage, conduct evaluations, and facilitate feedback from industry advisors and experts.

Deal Structuring and Documentation:

Prepare offers for startups, including financial modelling and term sheet preparation.
Work on investment memos for presentation to the investment committee.
Lead negotiations and facilitate the completion of investment deals.

Operational Support:

Demonstrate flexibility to work during weekends and evenings, aligning with the availability of student teams.
Conduct regular cadences on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and Sundays
Prepare for investment committee meetings and coordinate debriefs with student teams.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in managing teams and leading projects.
Strong financial modelling skills for deal structuring.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
Willingness to work during weekends and evenings as per operational requirements.
Efficient organizational and multitasking abilities to manage both investment processes and student team activities.
